Meade Environmental wins five-year Accra waste management contract
Meade Environmental has been awarded a five-year contract covering household and commercial waste collection for three municipal assemblies in Greater Accra, serving an estimated 400,000 residents.
The scope includes route optimisation, two transfer stations and a materials recovery facility that will separate plastics and metals for resale into local recycling markets.
Meade will add 40 vehicles and expects to create more than 200 direct jobs during the mobilisation period, with crew training delivered jointly with the assemblies' environmental health units.
The contract begins in October following a two-month transition from the incumbent operators.
