Surge launches merchant payments platform for Ghanaian SMEs

Surge has launched a merchant payments platform aimed at small and medium businesses, consolidating mobile money and card acceptance behind one settlement account and one reconciliation view.

The product targets merchants turning over less than GH₵2 million annually — a segment that typically juggles three or four separate payment relationships and reconciles them by hand.

Settlement is same-day for transactions captured before 4pm, with a merchant dashboard that exports directly into common bookkeeping formats.

Surge is onboarding an initial cohort of 500 merchants across Accra and Kumasi before opening general availability.
